Roles & Responsibilities

• Monitor and assess patients in the Progressive Care Unit, responding quickly to changes in condition
• Administer medications, IV therapies, and treatments with precision and compassion
• Collaborate with physicians and the healthcare team to develop and adjust individualized care plans
• Educate patients and families about conditions, procedures, and post-discharge care
• Maintain accurate, thorough documentation and uphold patient safety standards
• Provide emotional support and advocate for patients during critical moments

Qualifications

• Current and active RN license in Louisiana (or a compact state)
• BLS certification required; ACLS strongly preferred
• Previous PCU, stepdown, or telemetry experience is a plus, but new graduates with strong clinical rotations are welcome to apply
• Ability to think critically and act calmly in high-pressure situations
• Strong communication and teamwork skills
• Genuine passion for patient-centered care and advocacy

Knowledge & Skills

• Proficiency in cardiac monitoring and telemetry interpretation
• Solid understanding of IV therapy, wound care, and critical care protocols
• Strong clinical assessment and judgment
• Comfort using electronic health records (EHR) and medical technology
• Excellent patient education and communication abilities
