Shift Type: Flexible per diem shifts, 12.5 hours as needed, including days, nights, and weekends
Hours per Week: 36
Candidate Pay Rate: $47 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate, high-quality emergency nursing care to patients of all ages presenting to the ED/ER
- Triage patients efficiently, prioritize care based on acuity, and initiate life-saving interventions when needed
- Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and allied health professionals to develop and implement individualized care plans
- Administer medications, start IVs, perform wound care, and assist with emergency procedures
- Monitor patients closely, document assessments and interventions, and communicate changes in condition to the care team
- Educate patients and families on treatment plans, discharge instructions, and preventive care
Qualifications
- Current RN license in Louisiana or a compact state (NLC)
- BLS certification required (AHA)
- ACLS and PALS certifications preferred for emergency department nurses
- Minimum 1-2 years of emergency or critical care nursing experience preferred
- Strong critical thinking skills and the ability to stay calm under pressure
Knowledge & Skills
- Emergency nursing assessment and triage
- IV insertion and medication administration
- Interpretation of telemetry, labs, and diagnostic studies
- Electronic medical record (EMR) documentation
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
- Ability to multitask and prioritize in a high-acuity environment
