Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, high-quality emergency nursing care to patients of all ages presenting to the ED/ER
• Triage patients efficiently, prioritize care based on acuity, and initiate life-saving interventions when needed
• Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and allied health professionals to develop and implement individualized care plans
• Administer medications, start IVs, perform wound care, and assist with emergency procedures
• Monitor patients closely, document assessments and interventions, and communicate changes in condition to the care team
• Educate patients and families on treatment plans, discharge instructions, and preventive care

Qualifications

• Current RN license in Louisiana or a compact state (NLC)
• BLS certification required (AHA)
• ACLS and PALS certifications preferred for emergency department nurses
• Minimum 1-2 years of emergency or critical care nursing experience preferred
• Strong critical thinking skills and the ability to stay calm under pressure

Knowledge & Skills

• Emergency nursing assessment and triage
• IV insertion and medication administration
• Interpretation of telemetry, labs, and diagnostic studies
• Electronic medical record (EMR) documentation
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills
• Ability to multitask and prioritize in a high-acuity environment
