Contract Type: Travel Contract
Shift Type: Night shift, 8/10/16-hour shifts, schedule assigned (deferred scheduling); no block schedules, guaranteed 36 hours per week

Candidate Pay Rate: $46 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate, high-acuity nursing care to a diverse surgical trauma patient population
- Collaborate with a dedicated interdisciplinary team to manage complex cases, including gunshot wounds, quads, and paraplegic patients
- Partner closely with Nursing Support Techs, phlebotomists, and unit secretaries to ensure seamless patient care
- Coordinate thorough nurse handoffs between the ED and admitting unit to promote patient safety and continuity
- Document accurately in EPIC while advocating for patients and their families during critical moments
Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years of recent experience in a surgical or trauma specialty
- Current BLS certification required
- ACLS preferred
- Proficiency with EPIC electronic health records
- Willingness to work assigned shifts and adapt to changing unit needs
Knowledge & Skills
- Strong clinical assessment and critical-thinking skills for high-acuity trauma patients
- Comfortable managing surgical and trauma conditions, including spinal cord injuries
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to thrive in a dynamic, high-stakes unit while maintaining empathy and professionalism
