Roles & Responsibilities

• Assist the orthodontist during exams and procedures
• Prepare patients for treatment and ensure comfort throughout their visit
• Take and develop dental x-rays as needed
• Sterilize and organize instruments and treatment rooms
• Provide patients with post-treatment care instructions and oral hygiene education
• Maintain accurate patient records and update charts in the dental software system

Qualifications

• Must be orthodontic certified
• Valid dental assistant certification or license as required by Maryland state
• Experience in orthodontic assisting preferred
• Strong communication skills and a friendly chairside manner
• Ability to work effectively as part of a dental care team

Knowledge & Skills

• Knowledge of orthodontic procedures, instruments, and materials
• Proficiency with dental software systems such as Denticon is a plus
• Excellent patient care and interpersonal skills
• Attention to detail and strong organizational abilities
• Understanding of infection control and sterilization protocols
