Roles & Responsibilities

• Assist the orthodontist in providing exceptional patient care and treatment
• Prepare and sterilize instruments and equipment, ensuring a safe and hygienic environment
• Take and develop dental x-rays with precision and care
• Educate patients on orthodontic procedures, oral hygiene, and aftercare instructions
• Maintain patient records and manage appointment flow to keep things running smoothly
• Create a warm and welcoming experience for every patient who walks through the door

Qualifications

• Valid dental assistant certification or license in Maryland (as applicable)
• Previous experience in orthodontic assisting is a big plus
• Excellent communication skills and a patient-first attitude
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to infection control
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced yet friendly clinical environment

Knowledge & Skills

• Knowledge of orthodontic instruments, tools, and procedures
• X-ray safety and imaging techniques
• Dental practice management software and scheduling systems
• Sterilization and OSHA standards
• Organizational and time-management skills to keep the day flowing
