Roles & Responsibilities

• Assist the orthodontist during examinations and procedures, ensuring a smooth and comforting patient experience
• Prepare patients for treatment and help them feel at ease from the moment they sit in the chair
• Take and process dental X-rays and impressions with precision and care
• Sterilize and maintain dental instruments and equipment to the highest standards
• Educate patients on oral hygiene and orthodontic care best practices
• Maintain accurate patient records and support efficient office workflow

Qualifications

• State certification as a Dental Assistant (where applicable)
• Experience in orthodontic or dental settings preferred
• Current CPR/BLS certification
• X-ray certification as required by Maryland state regulations
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills

Knowledge & Skills

• Knowledge of orthodontic instruments, materials, and procedures
• Familiarity with dental software and patient management systems
• Understanding of sterilization and infection control standards
• Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities
• Compassionate approach to patient care
