Roles & Responsibilities

• Prepare treatment rooms and ensure all instruments are sterilized and ready for each patient
• Assist the orthodontist during procedures, including fitting braces, adjusting wires, and taking impressions
• Take and develop dental X-rays as directed, ensuring patient safety and comfort
• Educate patients on proper oral hygiene and care of orthodontic appliances
• Maintain accurate patient records and manage appointment scheduling to keep the office running smoothly

Qualifications

• Certified Dental Assistant (CDA) or Registered Dental Assistant (RDA) credential preferred
• Current Maryland dental assistant license or certification, as required
• Experience in orthodontics or dental assisting is a plus
• Radiography (X-ray) certification for dental assistants
• Excellent communication and patient care skills

Knowledge & Skills

• Knowledge of dental instruments and sterilization techniques
• Familiarity with orthodontic procedures and terminology
• Proficient in taking dental X-rays and digital imaging
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
• Compassionate and patient-focused approach
