Roles & Responsibilities

• Assist dental hygienists in delivering outstanding patient care during cleanings and exams
• Prepare and sterilize dental instruments and operatory rooms, ensuring a safe and spotless environment
• Capture high-quality dental X-rays and maintain accurate patient records to support precise diagnoses
• Educate patients on oral hygiene best practices, empowering them to keep healthy smiles
• Keep patient flow smooth by managing schedules, updating charts, and anticipating provider needs
• Uphold strict infection control protocols, protecting every patient and team member

Qualifications

• Active Maryland Dental Assistant certification or registration (or willingness to obtain)
• Current BLS/CPR certification
• Experience in a dental office or clinical setting
• Working knowledge of dental instruments, sterilization techniques, and X-ray procedures
• A positive, patient-first attitude with excellent communication skills
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment while staying calm and organized

Knowledge & Skills

• Solid understanding of dental terminology and procedures
• Familiarity with dental practice management software (e.g., Dentrix, Eaglesoft)
• Knowledge of infection control standards and OSHA guidelines
• Strong interpersonal skills for connecting with patients and teammates
• Exceptional organizational and time-management abilities
• Attention to detail in documentation and patient care
