Orthodontic Dental Assistant
Location: Parkville, MD

Candidate Pay Rate: $35 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities
- Assist the orthodontist during procedures and patient exams, ensuring a smooth and comfortable experience
- Prepare and sterilize instruments and operatories to maintain the highest safety standards
- Take and process X-rays and dental impressions to support accurate treatment planning
- Educate patients and parents on orthodontic care, appliance maintenance, and oral hygiene
- Update and manage patient records, treatment notes, and digital charting accurately
- Help with scheduling and patient flow to keep the office running efficiently
Qualifications
- Maryland dental assistant certification or eligibility (including radiology certification)
- Previous orthodontic experience is highly desired, but we are happy to train the right person
- Current CPR/BLS certification
- Comfort with dental practice software (like Denticon) is a plus
- A friendly, patient-focused attitude and excellent communication skills
Knowledge & Skills
- Knowledge of orthodontic instruments, materials, and sterilization protocols
- Proficiency in taking dental X-rays, impressions, and digital imaging
- Familiarity with dental terminology and charting systems
- Strong organizational and multitasking abilities
- Ability to connect with patients of all ages and make them feel at ease
