Roles & Responsibilities

• Assist the orthodontist during exams, procedures, and appliance adjustments
• Prepare operatories, sterilize instruments, and ensure strict infection control protocols
• Take and process dental radiographs with precision and care
• Guide patients through their orthodontic journey with clear education and encouragement
• Maintain accurate clinical records using denticon software
• Collaborate with the dental team to keep the practice running smoothly

Qualifications

• Current dental assistant certification or registration in Maryland, or the ability to obtain it before starting
• Prior dental assisting experience, ideally in orthodontics
• Radiography certification and compliance with state regulations
• A genuine commitment to providing exceptional, compassionate patient care
• Strong communication skills and the ability to work well within a team

Knowledge & Skills

• Knowledge of dental instrument names, sterilization methods, and chairside assisting techniques
• Comfort using dental practice software like denticon
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
• Ability to multitask and stay composed in a fast-paced environment
• Understanding of orthodontic procedures and treatment workflows
