Roles & Responsibilities

• Prepare and sterilize orthodontic instruments and treatment rooms to ensure every patient is safe and comfortable
• Assist the orthodontist during braces adjustments, bracket placements, and other orthodontic procedures
• Take and process dental X-rays and images with precision and care
• Educate patients on proper oral hygiene and orthodontic care, helping them smile with confidence
• Maintain accurate patient records and manage lab communication to keep the practice running smoothly
• Anticipate the orthodontist's needs to create an efficient and welcoming clinic experience

Qualifications

• Valid Maryland Dental Assistant certification or licensure (or ability to obtain)
• Radiology/X-ray certification as required by the state
• Experience in orthodontic assisting preferred
• Strong commitment to infection control and patient safety
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work collaboratively with a dedicated dental team

Knowledge & Skills

• Working knowledge of orthodontic instruments, materials, and procedures
• Proficiency with dental practice management software (Denticon experience is a plus)
• Understanding of HIPAA and patient confidentiality guidelines
• Strong organizational skills and acute attention to detail
• Ability to multitask effectively in a fast-paced clinical setting
