Roles & Responsibilities

• Assist the orthodontist during examinations and procedures, ensuring a smooth and efficient patient experience
• Prepare and sterilize instruments and equipment, maintaining a clean and safe clinical environment
• Take and develop dental X-rays, ensuring accurate imaging for treatment planning
• Educate patients on oral hygiene and post-treatment care, empowering them to maintain healthy smiles
• Maintain accurate patient records and treatment notes, supporting continuity of care
• Deliver compassionate chairside support, helping patients feel comfortable and informed throughout their visit

Qualifications

• Active Dental Assistant certification or registration in Maryland (or eligibility to obtain)
• Radiology/X-ray certification required for taking dental images
• Experience in orthodontics or a strong desire to specialize in orthodontic care
• Current CPR/BLS certification preferred
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to connect with patients of all ages
• Ability to multitask and thrive in a fast-paced dental environment

Knowledge & Skills

• Knowledge of dental terminology and orthodontic procedures
• Skill in taking dental impressions, X-rays, and digital records
• Understanding of sterilization techniques and infection control standards
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
• Compassionate patient communication and chairside manner
• Proficiency with dental practice management software
