Roles & Responsibilities

• Assist oral surgeons during surgical procedures, including wisdom tooth extractions
• Take and record vital signs such as blood pressure and pulse oximetry before and during procedures
• Administer nitrous oxide and monitor IV sedation under the direct supervision of the surgeon
• Capture panoramic X-rays to aid in accurate diagnosis and treatment planning
• Prepare and sterilize surgical instruments while maintaining a clean, organized operatory
• Provide clear post-operative instructions to patients and answer their questions with care
• Document patient information accurately and support a smooth patient flow

Qualifications

• You hold a current Dental Assistant certification or registration in Virginia (or are willing to obtain it)
• You have experience with nitrous oxide and IV sedation monitoring
• You're proficient in taking panoramic X-rays
• You understand oral surgery instruments and sterilization techniques
• You have excellent communication skills and a passion for patient care
• A valid CPR/BLS certification is required
• You thrive in a fast-paced environment and bring a positive, can-do attitude

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong knowledge of oral surgery procedures and protocols
• Ability to take accurate vital signs quickly and efficiently
• Hands-on experience with nitrous oxide delivery and IV sedation equipment
• Understanding of aseptic techniques and infection control standards
• Skill in providing compassionate post-operative care instructions
• Comfortable working with dental software and patient records
