Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate direct patient care, including assisting with daily living activities
- Administer medications and treatments as ordered, ensuring accuracy and safety
- Monitor and document vital signs, patient conditions, and responses to care
- Collaborate with nurses, physicians, and other healthcare professionals to deliver coordinated care
- Educate patients and their families on care plans and health management
- Maintain a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for residents and patients
Qualifications
- Active Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license in the state of Maine
- Current BLS/CPR certification (American Heart Association or equivalent)
- Previous experience in long-term care, skilled nursing, or rehabilitation settings preferred
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to connect with patients and families
- Ability to work flexible shifts, including evenings and weekends as needed
- Compassionate, patient-centered approach to care
Knowledge & Skills
- Knowledge of nursing care principles, medication administration, and documentation
- Skill in using electronic health records (EHR) systems
- Understanding of HIPAA and patient privacy regulations
- Ability to prioritize tasks and manage time effectively in a fast-paced environment
- Strong critical thinking and problem-solving abilities
- Teamwork and collaboration skills to support a positive unit culture
