Roles & Responsibilities

• Assist dental hygienists during patient examinations and procedures
• Prepare and sterilize dental instruments and treatment rooms
• Document patient health histories and treatment notes accurately
• Provide patients with post-treatment care instructions and oral hygiene education
• Maintain inventory of dental supplies and ensure operatory readiness
• Follow infection control protocols to ensure patient safety

Qualifications

• Maryland dental assistant certification or licensure as applicable
• CPR/BLS certification preferred
• Experience in a dental office or clinical setting
• Strong attention to detail and infection control practices
• Excellent communication and patient service skills
• Ability to work a single-day assignment with reliable transportation

Knowledge & Skills

• Knowledge of dental terminology and procedures
• Skill in instrument sterilization and operatory setup
• Proficiency with electronic health records or dental software
• Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
• Strong interpersonal skills for patient interaction
• Understanding of OSHA and HIPAA compliance
