Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate daily care to residents, including assistance with bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting
- Take and record vital signs, and report changes in residents' conditions to the nursing team
- Assist with mobility, positioning, and transfers to ensure resident safety and comfort
- Support residents with meals and nutrition, monitoring intake and documenting as needed
- Maintain a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for residents and staff
- Build meaningful relationships with residents and their families through attentive, respectful care
Qualifications
- Current Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification in the state of Maine
- A genuine passion for helping others and providing high-quality care
- Ability to work a flexible per diem schedule
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- CPR/BLS certification (preferred)
- Previous experience in long-term care or a skilled nursing facility is a plus
Knowledge & Skills
- Knowledge of resident care procedures and safety protocols
- Skills in taking vital signs and documenting patient information
- Ability to lift and transfer residents using proper body mechanics
- Effective communication with residents, families, and healthcare team members
- Compassionate, patient, and dependable nature
