Shift Type: Night shifts, 7:00 PM - 7:00 AM (12-hour nights); schedule may include weekends and rotating night assignments
Hours per Week: 36
Candidate Pay Rate: $46 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities
- Assess patients continuously and perform regular Q4 assessments to catch changes early
- Monitor telemetry and interpret cardiac rhythms to support timely interventions
- Manage and titrate IV drips and cardiac medications safely and according to protocol
- Provide acute and post-operative care for a variety of surgical patients, including trauma and vascular cases
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop and carry out individualized care plans
- Document care and communicate changes clearly to providers and families
- Respond to rapid changes in patient condition and escalate when necessary
- Support stepdown and heart & vascular units when floating is required
Qualifications
- Active RN license (eligible to work in Texas or via compact licensure)
- Minimum 1 year of recent acute care/PCU or stepdown nursing experience
- Current ACLS and BLS certifications required; NIH Stroke Scale certification required
- Comfortable with telemetry monitoring and IV drip management
- Strong customer service and communication skills—team players thrive here
- Meditech experience and trauma/orthopedic background are a plus
- Ability to work nights and adapt to changing patient needs
Education
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license required
- BSN preferred but not required
Knowledge & Skills
- Telemetry monitoring and cardiac rhythm recognition
- Post-operative and acute surgical patient management
- IV drip and continuous infusion management (heparin, amiodarone, vasopressors, etc.)
- Meditech EMR navigation and documentation best practices
- Patient assessment, vital signs interpretation, and early warning recognition
- Teamwork, clear communication, and adaptability in a fast-paced trauma center
