Roles & Responsibilities

• Prepare the operating room for surgery by setting up the sterile field and organizing all necessary surgical equipment, supplies, and solutions.
• Maintain a clean and sterile surgical environment, providing the surgeon with precise instrumentation and equipment throughout the procedure.
• Assist the surgeon during procedures by passing instruments and supplies, and managing the sterile field and specimens.
• Keep meticulous records of steam sterilizer usage and perform initial instrument, sharps, and sponge counts with the circulator.
• Keep suture carts organized and monitor expiration dates to ensure patient safety.
• Turn over rooms efficiently between cases and assist team members with gowning and gloving.
• Support patient care by helping with patient positioning pre-operatively and safely transporting patients.
• Stock adequate supplies for surgery to ensure seamless operations.

Qualifications

• BLS/BCLS certification is required
• Certified Surgical Technologist certification is strongly preferred
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred
• 1+ years of related work experience preferred
• Exceptional accuracy and attention to detail are essential
