Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide exceptional preventive dental care, including cleanings, scaling, and polishing
• Perform comprehensive dental assessments and document patient health histories
• Administer local anesthesia and adjunctive therapies as permitted by Virginia state law
• Take and interpret dental radiographs to support accurate diagnoses
• Educate patients on oral hygiene techniques and preventive care
• Maintain strict sterilization and infection control standards

Qualifications

• Active Dental Hygienist license in Virginia in good standing
• Current CPR/BLS certification (American Heart Association)
• Graduation from an accredited dental hygiene program
• Experience with dental software and digital imaging preferred
• Strong communication and patient care skills

Knowledge & Skills

• Proficient in dental prophylaxis and periodontal therapy
• Knowledge of oral anatomy and dental radiography
• Ability to educate patients effectively on oral health
• Excellent attention to detail and infection control practices
• Comfortable working with electronic health records
