Contract Type: Travel Contract

Shift Type: Rotating shifts, includes every other weekend and every other holiday

Candidate Pay Rate: $55 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities

Provide specialized nursing care to cardiac surgery patients before, during, and after procedures
Monitor vital signs, assess patient condition, and respond to changes promptly
Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by physicians
Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to ensure optimal patient outcomes
Educate patients and families on post-operative care and recovery plans
Maintain accurate patient records and documentation

Qualifications

Active RN license in Iowa or compact state
BLS, ACLS, TNCC, and NIHSS certifications required
Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in cardiac surgical nursing preferred
Ability to work every other weekend and holiday

Knowledge & Skills

Strong cardiac assessment and critical thinking skills
Proficiency in interpreting cardiac rhythms and hemodynamic monitoring
Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
Knowledge of sterile techniques and infection control
