Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide specialized pharmaceutical services to improve drug usage and therapeutic outcomes, advising physicians on drug therapy and side effects
• Prepare and dispense all medications accurately, ensuring compliance with state and federal regulations
• Maintain strong relationships with medical and nursing staff, offering timely drug information
• Conduct medication use reviews, assess patient compliance, and adjust regimens as needed
• Ensure proper storage and security of all medicinal products
• Respond to medication-related queries from hospital staff and the public
• Maintain strict patient confidentiality per HIPAA regulations
• Mentor healthcare professionals in training, including pharmacy and medical students
• Provide monthly consulting to contracted long-term care facilities
• Contribute to drug use guidelines and hospital policies

Qualifications

• Pharmacy degree from an ACPE-accredited school of pharmacy
• Active Nebraska state pharmacist license
• 3 years of retail pharmacy experience preferred
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
• Current BLS/BCLS certification required

Education

• Pharmacy degree from an ACPE-accredited school of pharmacy
• PharmD preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong knowledge of pharmacodynamics and pharmacokinetics
• Ability to individualize medication regimens and monitor outcomes
• Familiarity with state and federal pharmacy regulations
• Proficiency in pharmaceutical care and patient consultation
• Experience with medication dispensing systems and inventory management
