Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality nursing care to PCU/IMC patients across a variety of specialties including cardiac, neuro, oncology, ortho, and trauma
• Titrate and manage cardiac drips, insulin, ativan, and heparin as ordered
• Float between multiple facilities within Zone 1 and adapt to different unit environments
• Collaborate with charge nurses and the healthcare team to ensure safe patient outcomes
• Document patient assessments, interventions, and responses in Epic
• Support the team in a fast-paced, ever-changing float pool environment

Qualifications

• Active RN license in Colorado or a compact state (NLC)
• Minimum 2 years of recent PCU/IMC experience
• Current BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications (AHA)
• Experience with cardiac drips, insulin, and ativan; comfortable titrating
• Willingness to float to assigned facilities within the 60-mile zone
• Ability to work 12-hour day shifts and meet weekend requirements

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking skills for stepdown patients
• Proficient in managing cardiac drips and titratable medications
• Familiarity with Epic charting system
• Ability to quickly adapt to new units, patient populations, and facility protocols
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills
• Knowledge of adult-geriatric patient populations including cardiac, neuro, and post-surgical care
