Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide exceptional nursing care to critically ill children in the PICU, using evidence-based practices.
• Perform comprehensive assessments and monitor vital signs, adjusting care plans as conditions change.
• Administer medications, IV therapies, and treatments with precision and a gentle touch.
• Partner with a multidisciplinary team of physicians, therapists, and specialists to deliver coordinated, family-centered care.
• Support and educate families, helping them understand their child's condition and participate in care.
• Respond quickly and confidently to emergencies, stabilizing patients and communicating clearly under pressure.

Qualifications

• Current and valid RN license in Ohio (or compact state)
• BLS and PALS certifications (required)
• Experience in pediatric critical care or with pediatric patients (preferred, but new graduates with strong skills are encouraged to apply)
• Ability to think quickly and work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment
• Genuine passion for working with children and families

Knowledge & Skills

• Pediatric assessment and critical care monitoring
• Knowledge of ventilators, infusion pumps, and other ICU equipment
• Medication dosage calculation for pediatric patients
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to document accurately in EHR systems
• Teamwork and adaptability in changing patient situations
