Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate and thorough dental hygiene care to patients
• Perform dental cleanings, polishings, and fluoride treatments
• Take and develop dental X-rays with precision and care
• Educate patients on oral hygiene best practices and preventive care
• Assist the dentist during procedures, ensuring a smooth workflow
• Maintain strict infection control and sterilization standards
• Document patient care accurately in dental records

Qualifications

• Active Virginia Dental Hygienist license required
• Current CPR/BLS certification required
• Radiography (X-ray) certification required
• Experience in clinical dental hygiene preferred
• Strong communication and patient education skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Knowledge & Skills

• Knowledge of dental hygiene procedures and instruments
• Proficiency in digital radiography and imaging
• Patient assessment, charting, and treatment planning support
• Understanding of infection control and sterilization protocols
• Comfort with dental practice management software
• Excellent interpersonal and patient care skills
