Roles & Responsibilities

• Assist the orthodontist with a variety of procedures, from initial consultations to bracket placements and adjustments
• Prepare and sterilize treatment rooms and instruments to keep every patient safe and comfortable
• Capture and process dental X-rays and impressions with precision and care
• Educate patients and parents on treatment plans, oral hygiene, and post-procedure care in a warm, friendly way
• Manage patient records and appointments using Denticon software, keeping workflows seamless
• Anticipate the doctor's needs chairside and help the clinic run smoothly

Qualifications

• Current orthodontic certification is required for this role
• Certified Dental Assistant (CDA) or equivalent training preferred
• Previous experience in an orthodontic or dental office is a big plus
• CPR/BLS certification is helpful
• Ability to pass a background check and comply with Maryland dental practice requirements

Knowledge & Skills

• Solid understanding of orthodontic instruments, materials, and techniques
• Familiarity with dental practice management software, especially Denticon
• Excellent communication skills for interacting with patients and families
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail in a fast-paced environment
• Commitment to infection control and OSHA standards
