Shift Type: Night shift, 12-hour shifts, 7:00 PM - 7:00 AM, every other weekend and holidays

Hours per Week: 36

Candidate Pay Rate: $71 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities

  • Provide compassionate, high-level care to critically ill neonates in our Level 3b NICU
  • Monitor and assess infants of all gestational ages, including premies and those with sepsis or substance withdrawal
  • Administer medications, manage IV drips, and support ventilator care (Aveya, Bubble CPAP, Vapotherm, Oscillator)
  • Attend deliveries and provide immediate neonatal resuscitation and stabilization
  • Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team including neonatologists, RTs, and pharmacists
  • Support and educate families during an incredibly vulnerable time
  • Float to L&D and postpartum to care for babies as needed

Qualifications

  • 2-3 years of NICU experience in a Level 3 unit is a must
  • Current BLS and NRP certifications required
  • Active California RN license or compact license (NLC) accepted
  • Travel experience is a plus, and we love Spanish-speaking nurses!
  • Experience with Cerner EMR is preferred
  • Must be comfortable attending deliveries and floating to other units

Knowledge & Skills

  • Expertise in neonatal assessments and resuscitation
  • Comfort with ventilator support devices like Aveya, Bubble CPAP, Vapotherm, and Oscillator
  • Proficiency in Cerner charting system
  • Understanding of cooling therapy and caring for infants with substance exposure
  • Ability to work 1:1 or 1:3 ratios depending on acuity
  • Strong communication skills to connect with families and the care team
