Shift Type: Day shifts, 7:00 AM - 7:00 PM (12-hour shifts), every other weekend required (Saturday and Sunday), holidays rotated with permanent staff, arrive 15 minutes early for shift change, first to float, no self-scheduling

Roles & Responsibilities

• Deliver compassionate, high-quality care to MedSurg and Telemetry patients on a busy 12 Tower unit
• Serve as a back-up resource for Neurology, Stroke and Neurosurgery patients, including a small set of specialized beds
• Monitor cardiac rhythms and interpret EKG strips with confidence on every shift
• Manage cardiac drips and escalate changes in patient condition quickly and calmly
• Float across units as needed to support the broader care team
• Document accurately and efficiently in Epic while keeping the patient at the center of every note

Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license with the ability to submit your license
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications required
• NIHSS certification required
• 2 years of RN experience required, 3 or more years strongly preferred
• Previous travel experience and time spent in a busy hospital setting are a big plus
• Charge experience preferred but not required
• Openness to floating and comfort with a flexible, fast-paced schedule
• Epic charting experience preferred

Education

• Charting System: EPIC
• Unit Notes: Med Surg-Tele - M/S and back-up for Neurology, Strokes, Neuro surgery (back up 2-4 beds for Candida Aurias pts)

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong MedSurg and Telemetry clinical foundation
• Confident EKG interpretation and cardiac rhythm monitoring
• Experience with cardiac drips
• Knowledge of stroke and neuro care pathways
• Epic EHR proficiency
• Excellent communication and teamwork in a Level 1 Trauma environment
• Adaptability and a positive attitude toward floating and schedule changes
• Scrub color: Navy
