Roles & Responsibilities

• Deliver compassionate, patient-centered care to adults with CHF, diabetes, pneumonia, and CKD
• Monitor and interpret telemetry strips to catch changes early and act fast
• Manage patients on CPAP, BiPAP, and high flow oxygen therapy
• Collaborate with charge nurses, house supervisors, and nurse educators to keep care seamless
• Float across med/surg and telemetry units when the team needs you most
• Document accurately in Paragon while keeping communication clear with the whole care team

Qualifications

• Active RN license in the state of Texas
• Current BLS Certification
• At least 2 years of nursing experience
• Med/Surg and Telemetry experience is a must
• Comfortable reading and interpreting telemetry strips
• Willing to float to all med/surg units as needed

Education

• Common diagnosis / Types of patients chf, diabetes, PNA, CKD, m/s tele
• Experience or 'Must have' skills great communication and time management,
• Are RN's required to titrate drips n/a
• Common titratable &/or set rate drips
• Tele/Monitor Techs on this unit? Do RN's read strips? tele monitor techs monitor patients but RNs have to be able to read strips
• Charge Nurse/House Supervisor Charge Nurse and House Supervisors and Nurse Educators available
• Are there Nurse Aides on this unit/Ratios PCTs are present 12/1
• RT/Equipment (ie Cpap, Bipap, High Flow) Cpap, Bipap, and high flow patients
• Shifts & Scheduling 12 hour shifts scheduling is by manager, cannot guarantee block scheduling
• Weekend Requirement every other weekend required
• Holiday Requirement holidays are required
• Call or Standby Requirement n/a
• Floating Requirements will float to all med/surg units.
• Scrub Color/Dress Code Navy blue
• Unit/Department Specific Orientation Kurth tower is all med/surg tele and department orientation is completed.

• Strong communication with patients, families, and coworkers
• Excellent time management in a fast-paced 6 to 1 patient ratio unit
• Telemetry strip interpretation
• Med/Surg and Telemetry clinical know-how
• Team-first mindset and adaptability when floating
• Familiarity with Paragon charting is a bonus
