Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, family-centered care to pediatric patients on a Medical/Surgical unit
• Assess, plan, and implement nursing care interventions for children with various medical and surgical conditions
• Administer medications, IV therapies, and treatments safely while monitoring patient responses
• Collaborate with physicians, families, and interdisciplinary team members to coordinate comprehensive care
• Document patient assessments, interventions, and outcomes accurately in the electronic health record
• Educate patients and families on care plans, medications, and post-discharge instructions
• Respond quickly to changes in patient condition and escalate concerns appropriately

Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Ohio or compact state
• Current BLS certification (American Heart Association)
• Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) preferred
• Previous pediatric or Med/Surg nursing experience strongly preferred
• Ability to work flexible per diem shifts, including some weekends and holidays as needed

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking skills
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Proficiency in electronic health record (EHR) documentation
• Ability to prioritize and manage multiple patients calmly and efficiently
• Compassionate, patient-centered approach to care
• Knowledge of pediatric growth and development
