Roles & Responsibilities

• Lead and coordinate care across multiple ICU units including MICU, SICU, TICU, and CVICU
• Respond to codes and rapid responses throughout the hospital as the designated Charge Nurse
• Titrate critical drips including pressors, sedation, paralytics, antiarrhythmics, heparin, and insulin
• Float within a 60-mile zone to support sister facilities and maintain safe staffing ratios
• Interpret telemetry strips and manage respiratory equipment such as vents, CPAP, BiPAP, and high-flow oxygen
• Mentor and support staff while ensuring high-quality patient outcomes across varying acuity levels

Qualifications

• Active Colorado or Compact RN license
• BLS, ACLS, NIHSS, and TNCC certifications required
• Minimum 2 years of ICU experience with prior Charge Nurse experience
• Epic experience preferred; first-time travelers need 3+ years ICU experience and Epic proficiency
• Comfortable floating between ICU, PCU/Stepdown, and Med-Surg Telemetry units

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong critical care assessment and decision-making skills
• Ability to manage high-acuity patients on devices such as CRRT, IABP, and Impella
• Excellent communication and leadership during rapid responses and codes
• Flexible and adaptable when schedules or assignments change with short notice
• Proficient with reading and interpreting telemetry independently
