Roles & Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive psychological assessments and diagnostic evaluations for patients with substance use and co-occurring mental health disorders
• Develop and implement individualized treatment plans that promote recovery and rehabilitation
• Provide individual and group psychotherapy using evidence-based approaches tailored to the correctional/substance-abuse setting
• Collaborate with nursing, custody, and treatment teams to coordinate care and ensure patient safety
• Deliver crisis intervention and risk assessment when clinical situations require immediate attention
• Document clinical encounters, treatment progress, and discharge planning clearly and timely
• Provide training and clinical consultation to staff to enhance overall treatment delivery

Qualifications

• Active Psychologist license (PSYL) in good standing; LCSW, LMFT, or LPCC license holders encouraged to apply as alternate eligibilities
• Experience or demonstrated competence in mental health and substance abuse treatment (correctional experience a plus)
• Ability to work Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM - 4:00 PM onsite at the facility
• Valid professional credentials and clear background checks as required by the facility

Education

• Doctoral degree in Psychology (PhD or PsyD) for Psychologist credential
• Master’s degree in Social Work, Marriage & Family Therapy, or Counseling for LCSW/LMFT/LPCC pathways

Knowledge & Skills

• Solid knowledge of evidence-based therapies for substance use disorders and co-occurring mental health conditions
• Strong assessment, diagnostic, and treatment-planning skills
• Skilled in individual and group therapy facilitation
• Excellent clinical documentation and case management practices
• Ability to communicate effectively with interdisciplinary teams and correctional staff
• Crisis management and de-escalation techniques
