Roles & Responsibilities

• Conduct thorough mental health assessments and diagnostic evaluations for adult populations
• Develop individualized treatment plans and deliver evidence-based therapy
• Provide individual and group psychotherapy, tailored to the correctional setting
• Perform crisis intervention and risk assessments to ensure safety of patients and staff
• Document clinical care clearly and timely in patient records, meeting facility standards
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, correctional staff, and community providers
• Advocate for patient needs and contribute to program development and quality improvement

Qualifications

• Active California Psychologist (PSY) license, or Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT), or Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor (LPCC)
• Experience in mental health assessment and treatment; correctional experience is a strong plus
• Ability to work Monday through Friday, 7:00 AM - 3:00 PM; .75 FTE may be considered
• Willingness to complete facility background checks and meet correctional facility requirements
• Strong clinical documentation skills and familiarity with evidence-based therapeutic approaches

Knowledge & Skills

• Skilled in conducting psychological assessments and formulating treatment plans
• Knowledgeable in evidence-based therapies such as CBT and trauma-informed care
• Comfortable providing individual and group interventions in a secure setting
• Excellent communication and de-escalation skills for high-stress environments
• Able to collaborate effectively with custody staff and interdisciplinary teams
