Roles & Responsibilities

• Perform Compensation & Pension (C&P) exams and Separation Health Assessments with professionalism and care
• Conduct thorough interview-based evaluations and appropriate physical assessments, including range of motion and muscle strength testing
• Complete accurate, timely, non-treatment medical documentation and reports for each exam
• Follow credentialing and onboarding steps to meet VES standards and complete required trainings
• Manage follow-up administrative tasks such as addendums, medical opinions, and diagnostic reviews as needed
• Maintain patient confidentiality and deliver objective, unbiased examinations for Veterans

Qualifications

• Physician (MD or DO) or equivalent clinical credentials and active license appropriate for the practice location
• Experience or comfort with general medicine; family medicine, internal medicine, or orthopedic surgery backgrounds are welcome
• Familiarity with Compensation & Pension (C&P) exams is a plus
• Ability to perform interview-based clinical evaluations and basic physical assessments (range of motion, muscle strength testing)
• PRN availability and flexibility to work half-day or full-day clinic sessions
• Providers using their own office must have an office within 50 miles of the listed city when that option is required

Education

• Medical degree (MD or DO) or equivalent clinical doctorate

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong clinical examination and assessment skills
• Clear, concise medical documentation and reporting
• Experience or aptitude for non-treatment evaluations and objective assessments
• Good interpersonal and interview skills to elicit relevant history from Veterans
• Ability to follow established protocols for C&P and separation health assessments
• Comfort with brief administrative follow-up and case completion tasks
