Roles & Responsibilities

• Prepare treatment rooms and sterilize instruments for orthodontic procedures
• Assist the orthodontist during exams, adjustments, and bonding procedures
• Take and process dental radiographs (X-rays) as directed
• Help patients feel comfortable and explain treatment steps
• Maintain accurate patient records and update Denticon as needed
• Educate patients on oral hygiene and care of braces and aligners

Qualifications

• Maryland Dental Assistant certification or licensure as required by state
• Current CPR/BLS certification
• Previous orthodontic assisting experience is a plus
• Ability to take dental X-rays (Radiography certification)

Knowledge & Skills

• Knowledge of orthodontic instruments and procedures
• Strong patient communication and chairside manner
• Attention to detail and infection control protocols
• Familiarity with dental practice management software (Denticon preferred)
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced clinic
