Roles & Responsibilities

• Assist the orthodontist during patient exams and procedures, ensuring smooth and efficient visits
• Prepare and sterilize instruments, and maintain a clean, organized operatory
• Take and pour dental impressions, and prepare orthodontic appliances for bonding
• Educate patients on oral hygiene and orthodontic care instructions
• Manage patient records and update treatment notes accurately

Qualifications

• Certified Dental Assistant (CDA) or dental assistant certification from an accredited program
• Maryland Dental Radiology Certification or willingness to obtain
• Experience in an orthodontic practice is preferred
• Strong attention to detail and infection control practices
• Excellent patient communication and chairside manner

Knowledge & Skills

• Knowledge of orthodontic instruments, terminology, and procedures
• Comfortable with dental software and patient management systems
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced clinical environment
• Strong organizational and multitasking skills
• Compassionate and patient-focused approach
