Roles & Responsibilities

• Assist the orthodontist during procedures, including taking impressions and adjusting appliances
• Prepare and sterilize instruments, keeping operatory rooms spotless and ready
• Take and develop dental X-rays with precision and care
• Educate patients on oral hygiene and orthodontic care in a friendly, encouraging way
• Maintain accurate patient records and keep appointment workflows running smoothly
• Support a warm, efficient clinical environment that puts patients at ease

Qualifications

• Active Dental Assistant certification or licensure as required by Maryland state (CDA or similar)
• Previous orthodontic or dental assisting experience is a big plus
• Availability to work the afternoon shift from 12:30 PM to 8:00 PM
• Current CPR/BLS certification or willingness to obtain
• Excellent communication skills and a warm chairside manner

Knowledge & Skills

• Knowledge of dental instruments, sterilization techniques, and orthodontic tools
• Familiarity with dental practice management software like Denticon
• Strong organizational skills and keen attention to detail
• Ability to multitask in a fast-paced patient care setting
• Compassionate and clear communicator with patients and teammates
