Roles & Responsibilities

• Perform comprehensive dental cleanings and periodontal assessments
• Take and develop dental x-rays to assist in diagnosis
• Educate patients on proper oral hygiene and preventive care
• Assist the dentist during procedures while maintaining a sterile environment
• Document patient care, update medical histories, and chart treatment plans
• Screen for oral diseases and report findings to the dentist

Qualifications

• Active Dental Hygienist license in Virginia
• Current CPR/BLS certification
• Graduate from an accredited dental hygiene program
• Excellent patient communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work evenings and maintain a positive attitude

Knowledge & Skills

• Proficiency in dental instrumentation and sterilization protocols
• Experience with digital radiography and dental software
• Strong attention to detail and infection control standards
• Caring chairside manner and patient education skills
