Roles & Responsibilities

• Assist the orthodontist during patient examinations and procedures
• Prepare and sterilize dental instruments and equipment
• Take and develop dental X-rays for patient diagnosis
• Provide patients with clear instructions and post-treatment care education
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records
• Manage dental supplies and inventory to ensure a smooth workflow
• Ensure patient comfort and safety throughout their visit

Qualifications

• Certified Dental Assistant (CDA) or Registered Dental Assistant (RDA) preferred
• Maryland X-ray certification/licensure
• Previous orthodontic assisting experience is a plus
• CPR certification required
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced clinical environment

Knowledge & Skills

• Knowledge of dental instruments, materials, and sterilization protocols
• Familiarity with orthodontic treatments, brackets, wires, and appliances
• Experience using dental practice management software
• Strong attention to detail and organizational abilities
• Excellent patient interaction and chairside manner
