Roles & Responsibilities
- Assist the orthodontist during procedures, ensuring a smooth and comfortable experience for every patient
- Prepare treatment rooms and sterilize instruments to maintain the highest safety standards
- Take and process dental X-rays accurately to support diagnosis and treatment planning
- Provide patients with clear post-treatment instructions and answer their questions with empathy
- Maintain detailed and confidential patient records, documenting treatments and progress
- Manage supplies and inventory to keep the orthodontic practice running efficiently
- Collaborate with the dental team to deliver outstanding care and exceptional patient satisfaction
Qualifications
- Certified Dental Assistant (CDA) or equivalent experience is valued
- State radiology (X-ray) certification or the ability to obtain it
- Prior orthodontic or dental assistant experience is preferred
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a patient-first mindset
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced dental environment
- Current BLS or CPR certification is a plus
Knowledge & Skills
- Working knowledge of dental instruments and sterilization protocols
- Familiarity with dental practice management software such as Denticon
- Skills in taking radiographs and digital imaging
- Strong attention to detail and organizational abilities
- Compassionate patient care and teamwork
