Roles & Responsibilities
- Assist oral surgeons during wisdom tooth extractions and other surgical procedures
- Monitor patient vital signs including blood pressure and pulse oximetry
- Administer nitrous oxide and assist with IV sedation under supervision
- Take panoramic X-rays to aid in diagnosis and treatment planning
- Prepare and sterilize surgical instruments and operatory rooms
- Provide compassionate patient care and education before, during, and after procedures
Qualifications
- Experience with vital signs monitoring (blood pressure, pulse oximetry)
- Comfortable administering nitrous oxide and assisting with IV sedation
- Skilled in capturing panoramic X-rays
- Background in oral surgery or wisdom tooth extraction procedures
- A valid dental assistant certification or state license (if required)
Knowledge & Skills
- Knowledge of oral surgery instruments and sterilization protocols
- Understanding of patient safety and infection control
- Skill in using dental imaging equipment
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to work calmly and efficiently in a fast-paced environment
