Roles & Responsibilities

• Conduct thorough psychological assessments and substance abuse evaluations
• Develop and implement individualized treatment plans that promote recovery
• Provide individual and group therapy focused on mental health and substance use disorders
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to coordinate care and ensure safety
• Maintain timely, accurate clinical documentation and treatment records
• Participate in case reviews, treatment planning meetings, and quality improvement efforts
• Offer crisis intervention and stabilization as needed in a secure facility setting

Qualifications

• Active California license as a Psychologist, or Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT), or Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor (LPCC)
• Experience working with mental health and substance abuse populations preferred
• Comfortable and professional working in a correctional/substance abuse treatment facility
• Strong clinical assessment and treatment planning skills
• Ability to pass required background checks and facility onboarding

Education

• Doctoral degree (PhD/PsyD) in Psychology preferred for Licensed Psychologist roles
• Master's degree in Counseling, Psychology, or Marriage and Family Therapy acceptable for LMFT/LPCC clinicians

Knowledge & Skills

• Clinical knowledge of substance abuse treatment modalities and mental health interventions
• Group therapy and individual counseling experience
• Risk assessment, crisis intervention, and de-escalation skills
• Proficient clinical documentation and electronic health record use
• Collaborative communication with care teams and facility staff
