Roles & Responsibilities

• Prepare and process tissue specimens for microscopic examination
• Perform routine and special staining procedures to support accurate diagnoses
• Operate and maintain histology laboratory equipment with precision
• Ensure quality control and adherence to laboratory safety protocols
• Collaborate with pathologists and laboratory team to deliver timely results
• Document and track specimens using EPIC and laboratory systems

Qualifications

• Certified Histotechnician (HT) via ASCP Verification - required
• Minimum 2 years of histology experience in an acute care setting
• Experience with EPIC charting system preferred
• Ability to work night shifts (Monday-Friday, 11:00 PM - 7:30 AM)
• No BLS certification required - one less thing to worry about!

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong knowledge of histology lab procedures and staining techniques
• Proficiency in specimen processing, embedding, microtomy, and slide preparation
• Familiarity with EPIC and laboratory information systems
• Attention to detail and commitment to quality assurance
• Ability to work independently on night shift and collaborate with the team
• Understanding of laboratory safety and infection control practices
