Geriatric Nursing Assistant
Location: Lanham, MD
Start Date: 08-04-2026
Contract Type: Per-Diem
Shift Type: Day shift (Shift 1), 7:00 AM - 3:00 PM
Hours per Week: 40
Candidate Pay Rate: $16 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate daily care to geriatric residents, including assistance with bathing, dressing, grooming, and eating
- Monitor and record vital signs, reporting any changes to nursing staff
- Support residents with mobility, transfers, and positioning to ensure safety and comfort
- Engage residents in activities and provide emotional support to enhance their quality of life
- Maintain a clean, safe, and orderly environment for residents
- Document care provided and communicate effectively with the healthcare team
Qualifications
- Active Maryland Geriatric Nursing Assistant (GNA) certification
- Current CPR/BLS certification preferred
- Ability to comply with facility requirements, including background checks
- COVID-19 vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption
- Previous experience in long-term care, rehab, or skilled nursing preferred
Knowledge & Skills
- Knowledge of elderly care best practices and safety protocols
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team
- Compassion, patience, and empathy when caring for residents
- Attention to detail for accurate documentation and reporting
