Geriatric Nursing Assistant
Location: Lanham, Maryland
Start Date: 08-03-2026
Contract Type: Per-Diem
Shift Type: Monday, August 3, 2026, 7:00 AM - 3:00 PM
Hours per Week: 40
Candidate Pay Rate: $16 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities
- Assist geriatric patients with activities of daily living, including bathing, dressing, eating, and mobility
- Take and record vital signs and report changes in patient condition to nursing staff
- Provide compassionate care that respects each patient's dignity and promotes independence
- Support rehabilitation therapy by encouraging patients and helping with exercises
- Maintain a clean, safe, and comfortable environment for patients
- Document care provided accurately and communicate effectively with the care team
Qualifications
- Active Maryland Geriatric Nursing Assistant (GNA) certification
- Current BLS/CPR certification or ability to obtain
- COVID-19 vaccination or documented medical/religious exemption
- Must bring a state or federal issued ID and wear a photo badge while on duty
- New GNA grads encouraged to apply!
Knowledge & Skills
- Knowledge of basic nursing care and patient safety protocols
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Compassionate, patient, and attentive to patient needs
- Ability to work as part of a care team
- Comfortable with electronic charting and documentation
- Time management and adaptability in a rehab setting
