Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide thorough dental cleanings and prophylaxes to patients of all ages
• Educate patients on proper oral hygiene techniques and preventive care
• Take and develop dental radiographs (X-rays) as needed
• Assist the dentist during procedures and ensure patient comfort
• Document patient care accurately in electronic health records
• Maintain a sterile and safe clinical environment in compliance with OSHA standards

Qualifications

• Active Virginia Dental Hygienist license in good standing
• Current CPR/BLS certification
• Prior experience in a dental practice preferred
• Strong attention to aseptic technique and infection control
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills

Knowledge & Skills

• Proficiency in dental prophylaxis and scaling/root planing
• Knowledge of dental radiography and safety protocols
• Familiarity with electronic dental records
• Ability to educate patients on oral health
• Strong teamwork and patient-centered care skills
