Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide thorough dental cleanings and prophylaxis to patients
- Educate patients on oral hygiene techniques and preventive care
- Assess patients' oral health and document findings accurately
- Take and develop dental X-rays as needed
- Assist the dentist during examinations and procedures
- Sterilize and maintain dental instruments and equipment
Qualifications
- Active Dental Hygiene license in the state of Virginia
- Current CPR/BLS certification
- Strong clinical skills with attention to detail
- Excellent communication and patient education abilities
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Knowledge & Skills
- Knowledge of dental hygiene best practices and infection control protocols
- Proficiency in taking digital X-rays and using dental software
- Understanding of periodontal disease management and patient counseling
- Skill in using ultrasonic scalers and hand instruments effectively
