Roles & Responsibilities
- Assist dentists during procedures, ensuring a smooth and efficient patient experience
- Prepare treatment rooms and sterilize instruments to maintain a clean and safe environment
- Take and develop dental x-rays as needed
- Provide patients with post-operative care instructions and answer their questions
- Maintain accurate patient records and update dental charts
- Support the dental team with inventory management and supply ordering
Qualifications
- Active Dental Assistant certification or license in Maryland
- Radiology certification preferred
- Completion of an accredited dental assisting program
- CPR/BLS certification required
- Prior experience in a dental office is a plus, but new grads are welcome to apply
Education
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Graduation from an accredited dental assisting program
Knowledge & Skills
- Knowledge of dental terminology and procedures
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
- Proficiency with dental software and digital x-ray systems
- Attention to detail and infection control protocols
