Roles & Responsibilities

• Perform specialized and complex technical tasks in processing and screening cytological specimens to detect cancer or other pathological conditions
• Screen slides of clinical specimens, both gynecologic and non-gynecologic, for evidence of disease, marking abnormalities and rendering diagnoses
• Conduct quality control and quality assurance procedures to maintain compliance with internal and external regulations
• Provide rapid on-site evaluation (ROSE) using tele-pathology system for Fine Needle Aspirations
• Determine cases for quality control or subsequent review with pathologist

Qualifications

• Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Cytotechnologist
• Current ASCP certification
• Proficiency with EBUS, EUS, and Thyroid FNA procedures
• Experience with EPIC electronic health records
• Valid New York state license or eligibility

Knowledge & Skills

• Expertise in cytology specimen processing and screening
• Knowledge of quality control and assurance protocols
• Proficient in tele-pathology systems
• Skilled in both gynecologic and non-gynecologic cytology
• Strong attention to detail and diagnostic accuracy
