Contract Type: Contract

Shift Type: Rotating 12-hour day shifts, 7:00 AM - 7:30 PM or 11:00 AM - 11:30 PM as needed, 36 hours per week, 6 weekend shifts per 6-week schedule, on call one night per week and every other Sunday max, first to float between Bryan and College Station campuses

Hours per Week: 36

Candidate Pay Rate: $55 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities

Deliver expert dialysis care to ESRD and acute renal failure patients in the suite and ICU
Masterfully perform AVF/AVG cannulation and CVC access with precision
Initiate and terminate peritoneal dialysis using Baxter Home Choice machines
Monitor and manage hemodialysis complications like a pro
Provide meticulous site care for peritoneal dialysis catheters
Titrate heparin drips and handle set-rate drips confidently
Float between nearby campuses to support where you're needed most

Qualifications

Active RN license
2+ years of acute care dialysis nursing experience
Must have peritoneal dialysis experience with hookup and disconnect
Pass Advanced Dysrhythmia exam (83% required, 3 attempts allowed)
Required certifications: BLS (AHA), ACLS (AHA), NIHSS (AHA or APEX)

Education

BSN preferred but not required

Knowledge & Skills

Acute dialysis competencies
Recognition and management of dialysis emergencies
Heparin titration
Familiarity with amiodarone, cardizem, dobutamine, dopamine, milrinone drips
Tele monitoring awareness
