Location: Reston, Virginia

Start Date: 06-22-2026

Contract Type: Travel Contract

Shift Type: Night shift, 7:00 PM - 7:00 AM, 3 shifts per week (13-week contract)

Hours per Week: 36

Candidate Pay Rate: $49 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities

Manage ventilator settings for critically ill patients using Servo I, Servo U, and 980 vents
Provide emergency airway care and CPAP/BiPAP therapy
Administer aerosolized medications and high-flow oxygen
Perform arterial punctures, blood gas analysis, and A-line management
Collaborate with ICU and NICU teams to optimize patient outcomes
Document care in Meditech Expanse and maintain patient safety

Qualifications

Minimum 2 years of hospital experience as a Respiratory Therapist
NICU experience is required
Active Virginia state license (RRT preferred, CRT accepted)
Current ACLS, NRP, and PALS certifications
Flexibility to work in a small team setting and float across units

Knowledge & Skills

Proficiency in ventilator management and emergency airway care
Experience with CPAP/BiPAP (V60, Hamilton C1) and high-flow devices
Skilled in arterial punctures, ABG analysis, and 12-lead EKG
Knowledge of Meditech Expanse documentation system
Strong teamwork and communication skills
Compassionate focus on patient-centered care
